iCore Adapters

The iCore Adapter concept offers a time- and cost-effective way to connect systems to one another. By shortening the integration projects considerably, effiency is improved and money is saved.

Adapter is a generic name used for the functionality to connect to various ERP, SCM, CRM or similar systems in a standardized way. According to Gartner, a ready-made Adapter contains approximately 30% of the required functionality. The remaining 70% needs to be custom-made. Analysts mean that adapters can be divided into:

  • Basic Adapters: which simply know how to interface an application, but do not know "what to say”. The latter is up to the developer to achieve.
  • Semantic Adapters: which understand the interface on a ”how and what level”, for example an inventory request to SAP using IDOC.

The iCore Adapters are of two kinds:

  • Basic Adapters, for example file adapters.
  • Advanced Adapters , for example ERP adapters. This is what Gartner calls Semantic adapters.

The iCore Integration Suite concept also offers a strong Adapter building toolkit to make it easier to produce customer-unique adapters in-house. Our motive is that it is unlikely to find pre-built adapters for every desired application (no matter who the supplier is). The feasibility to integrate depends mainly on the source and target applications, and their architecture. In iCore Integration Suite, you find a number of ”Adapter templates” to be used as shortcuts to facilitate the task. Customer-made solutions are easily configured into a business flow based on an iCore Adapter.

Integration by configuration will save you time and money!
