July 25, 2003 the Privacy and Electronic Communications directive of the European Union introduced a new law about electronic communication. According to this law every visitor to a web site, that uses cookies, must be properly informed about the site using cookies. Visitors must also be given the opportunity to prevent any cookies from being stored on the computer.
A cookie is a small file containing text information that will be stored on your computer when visiting a web site using cookies. The next time the same web site is visited the information in your cookie is analyzed and pages will be shown according to your preferences.
