Integration powered by AI: Research project completed!

During the past six months, two master students from the Chalmers University of Technology have been working with iCore on a research project with the purpose to investigate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used to automate data integration. Their work has resulted in a master thesis and a prototype tool for finding suitable format mappings based on statistical data.

The main focus of the project was to examine three different mapping models (a "shortest distance" model, a network flow model, and a data value model) and weigh the pros and cons of these models against each other.

At iCore, we are excited about the findings of the study and look forward to developing the concept of "integration powered by AI" further. Carl-Adam Wachtmeister, Business Developer at iCore, says:

"AI and machine learning-based applications are currently being developed at a rapid pace. We have an ambition to explore the cutting edge of technology in order to evaluate emerging technologies and investigate if they can provide business value in integration. This prototype has shown very interesting potential and we will continue to dig deeper into the subject of machine learning".
