iCore – Your partner in integration with Infor M3

With a deep-rooted connection to Infor M3, one of the most popular ERPs, iCore has established itself as a trusted partner for companies striving to achieve a seamless and scalable integration solution. Let's take a closer look at how iCore and Infor M3 can be combined to deliver powerful solutions to meet today's business challenges.

To get a broader understanding of how iCore helps businesses using Infor M3 to thrive with the right integrations, we interviewed two of iCore’s experts on the subject: Håkan Holm, Chief Technology Officer, and Patrik Kärrberg, Senior Sales Consultant.

Replacing your ERP? Focus on your integration platform

iCore has a long history of working with Infor M3.

– We’ve been working with M3 since we started iCore, says Håkan. Infor M3 offers a horizontal solution covering a wide range of industries and niches, which has made it a popular choice for companies worldwide. One of the biggest advantages of Infor M3 lies in its deep functionality and configurability. Compared to competing customer products, M3 does not have as many built-in customizations, making it much easier to integrate with, offering more flexibility and scalability.

But despite its many advantages, it can be challenging for companies to manage the complex integrations required to connect different systems and applications.

– We’ve seen many examples of companies outsourcing the problems, leaving them with a solution they don’t fully understand and are unable to make changes to, Patrik explains.

– Just consider the security aspect of not having control over your integrations. What happens when you have 200 systems and you don't know how they talk to each other, what information is shared between systems, and you have no ability to locate a potential problem?, Patrik highlights.

– It puts you in a tough spot.

– When you start the journey to adopting a new ERP system, it is easy to just listen to your ERP supplier. But we’re saying that it’s better to start listening to your integration provider instead. Otherwise, it is easy to get stuck in your ERP system. You want integrations that are easy to live with and easy to change over time, Håkan continues.

iCore's unique M3 expertise

Patrik and Håkan hold immense knowledge and expertise in both integrations and information systems. Patrik work as a Senior Sales Consultant in the United Kingdom and has brought his experience and strong business knowledge to the iCore team since 2021. He also holds a PhD in Information Systems and has a keen interest in helping companies optimize their business processes. Håkan has over 35 years of experience in the field. He has been working with integrations and M3 (or Movex as it was called at the time) since the early 90s and is passionate about delivering high-quality integrations. Håkan has also been a key figure in shaping iCore's integration platform to what it is today.

Thanks to their extensive experience with M3 and its predecessors, iCore can offer specific functionality tailored to Infor M3, making it easier to integrate other applications with M3 compared to other integration platforms.

– Just as M3, iCore offers a horizontal solution. Meaning, regardless of niche of our customers, we are able provide a good match, Håkan says.

Additionally, iCore has long experience in managing ERP migrations and uses a proven methodology to support companies on the journey from on-premises to cloud-based solutions.

– Many companies have heavily customized solutions running on their own servers, but this makes it difficult to move to the cloud, Håkan explains.

– iCore helps you transition from on-premises to the cloud smoothly, avoiding being locked to a specific ERP provider. This enables more freedom in choosing the system best suited for your company´s needs and scalability.

Håkan Holm, CTO at iCore

One system doesn’t have it all, at least not forever. Therefore iCore is a strong proponent of the “best of breed” principle, meaning you cherry-pick the best systems for each need, and integrate them with each other in a loosely coupled architecture. With the "best of breed" strategy in mind, iCore aims to help companies integrate and leverage the best systems for their specific needs and ultimately achieve greater success.
