BabyBjörn: "We only buy from the best"

- Our integration projects are far from simple and require unique solutions for each situation. It is complex and challenging. But we still haven't faced a challenge that iCore hasn't been able to solve, says Krister Lann, CIO at BabyBjörn.

BabyBjörn is probably best known for its revolutionary baby carrier, but since its inception in 1961, the company has expanded its range to include many more products that help families enjoy all the precious moments of the toddler years.

With more than 30 years at the company, Krister Lann has followed Babybjörn's success – from a startup on the Swedish market to a global player with an emphasis on the American and Asian markets, and with a turnover that exceeds a billion SEK. He has also been driving the digital journey BabyBjörn started more than ten years ago together with iCore.

- We have never had the desire to build an internal IT department, we want to buy the best external competence. Our specialty is customer competence, where iCore can help us in the decision-making process. They are a great partner to bounce ideas off of when we have to technically set up solutions, he says.

With customers all over the world, one of the challenges has been communication between the various subcontractors' warehouse systems. Unlike for example the automotive industry, which uses EDIFACT, there is no common standard for WMS systems. Instead, iCore has created an integration solution so that the systems can communicate with each other. So far, iCore has helped BabyBjörn with roughly 50 different integrations.

- We need a partner like iCore who understands our business, follows our development and can build integrations for different needs along the way, both in terms of internal processes that involve our business-critical systems, and for the external ones such as e-commerce which has recently grown a lot.

Next up in the collaboration between iCore and BabyBjörn is building an e-commerce integration for the subsidiary in the USA, which will make it easier for customers to place orders. For Krister Lann, entrusting iCore with the task was a no-brainer:
