Martin is the developer with broad competence in programming

A great interest in programming and integration solutions made Martin Ahlström want to become part of iCore. In October 2022, he assumed the role of software developer, and has since added both competence and expertise to the team.

Hello Martin! How has your first time at iCore been?

Great! It always takes some time to settle into a new job but my colleagues have done an outstanding job of giving me a good introduction. I felt very warmly welcome right from the start and am confident in my duties.

What kind of experience do you have in the past?

I previously worked for an IT distributor for just over 15 years, but finally felt that I wanted to try something different. I then started at another company where I stayed for about six months before I came into contact with iCore. Mainly, I have gathered a lot of experience in programming and product development, which I have a lot of use for.

The atmosphere at iCore is very open and prestige-free, which means that there is always an opportunity to raise thoughts and ideas between different departments and managers.

What is important for you to enjoy a workplace?

It is above all the colleagues and the community. The atmosphere at iCore is very open and prestige-free, which means that there is always an opportunity to raise thoughts and ideas between different departments and managers. I also experience a clear work structure, with different roles, while the ceiling is high and we all help each other as a team.

What does a typical day look like for you?

We always have a start-up meeting in the morning where we go over what we have to do and brainstorm some thoughts and ideas with each other. After that, work begins with various projects. I am usually in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the rest of the week I work from home. Ideally, I want to be in the office as much as possible, but at the same time I need to take home logistics into account. I have a son who comes home from school in the afternoon, so it is more suitable to work from home.

What qualities do you want to contribute to iCore?

I would say that I am reliable as a person, if I have promised something I make sure to get it done. At iCore, I feel motivated, which is a prerequisite for me to be able to perform and continue to develop. We fulfill an important function for our customers, something I want to continue to contribute to.
