Breakfast seminar: How do you calculate the cost in Azure?
On the 6th of April, iCore and the IAMCP CIG CODE group arranged a breakfast seminar which focused on Microsoft's cloud platform Azure. As a direct result of Azure’s success, we are seeing an increasing number of applications being moved into the cloud.
Among the Microsoft partners, both ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) and SIs (Software Integrators) are happy to offer their software in Azure, but many find it difficult to calculate costs and offer their customer a fixed price (usually a monthly subscription fee per user). Many partners also want to learn how to package their own IP with Azure operations, which is something Microsoft recommends to achieve better partner profitability.
During the breakfast we were treated to a great presentation by Peter Örneholm from Active Solution (Azure specialist and Microsoft MVP), where he explained how to monitor and work with settings in Azure to optimize both costs and operations. We got a real “buzz” going, with interesting questions, discussions and exchange of experiences among all participants. Many of us left the event with knowledge that will help us cut our costs on Azure significantly, and we strongly recommend you check out the presentation at the IAMCP event page.
