iCore Solutions engaged in a VINNOVA financed Open Data project together with Softronic

Softronic has chosen to collaborate with iCore Solutions in a proof-of-concept project financed by VINNOVA, with the goal to provide Softronics' Azure-based Open Data platform with customer and supplier invoice data from Agresso. The proof-of-concept was delivered in August, and the intention is to develop it into a business model that is attractive to the Swedish government organizations.

Open data is based on the concept that certain data should be available for use (and re-use) without restrictions from copyright, patents or other mechanisms of control. The rationale behind open government data is twofold: First, to make government data available to the public in open formats to increase government transparency and accountability. Second, to enable third parties to leverage the potential of government data through the development of applications and services that address public and private demands.

VINNOVA is Sweden's innovation agency with the mission to promote sustainable growth by improving the conditions for innovation, as well as funding needs-driven research. VINNOVA is a government agency working under the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications and acts as the national contact agency for the EU Framework Programme for R&D.
